ABOUT MARTHA DRACULA:
Martha Dracula is Count Dracula’s late wife in Hotel Transylvania. She is depicted as a loving and nurturing figure who deeply influenced Dracula’s life. Tragically, Martha was killed by a mob of humans, which led Dracula to create the hotel as a sanctuary for monsters. Her memory haunts him, shaping his overprotective nature toward their daughter Mavis.
1. DRESS – The cornerstone of this outfit is definitely this stunning gothic maxi dress with flowy arm cuffs, we couldn’t find a better dress than this!
2. CHOKER – Martha wears a black choker with a prominent purple gemstone in the center.
3. FOOTWEAR – A subtle pair of low closed-toe heels are just right for this look.
4. FANGS – Like Count Dracula, no vampire cosplay could be considered complete without a quality pair of fangs.
5. FACEPAINT – Martha has pale grey skin in all her flashbacks and so this facepaint is a must.
6. LIPSTICK – Finally, a glossy black lip gloss rounds out this look.
Martha Dracula’s tragic death forms Count Dracula’s overprotective nature when it comes to his only daughter, Mavis.
Despite only appearing in flashbacks, Martha is an instrumental character in Hotel Transylvania. Could she and the Count be the adorable couple costume you’ve been looking for?

Wear a fitted black gothic maxi dress with long or flowing sleeves. Add a black choker with a purple gemstone, low black heels, vampire fangs, pale gray makeup and a long wavy black wig.
Martha wears an elegant, floor-length black gown with long sleeves and a fitted silhouette. A gothic maxi dress with a V-neckline, flared skirt or bell sleeves provides the closest affordable alternative.
Choose a waist-length black wig with loose waves. Brush the curls into soft sections and keep the style relatively natural, since Martha’s hair is longer and less angular than Mavis Dracula’s short bob.
Apply pale gray or very light foundation before adding dark eyeliner, subtle smoky eyeshadow and deep plum or black lipstick. Finish with small vampire fangs, taking care not to make the makeup excessively bloody or frightening.
The character’s correct name is Martha Dracula, not Maria. Martha is Count Dracula’s late wife and Mavis Dracula’s mother, although she is sometimes incorrectly labeled as Maria on costume pages and social media.
Count Dracula is the most appropriate couples costume partner for Martha. Add Mavis, Johnny and Dennis for a Dracula family costume, or include Frankenstein, Eunice, Murray and the Werewolf family for a larger Hotel Transylvania group.
