ABOUT BATGIRL:

In the Harley Quinn animated series, Batgirl is portrayed as a determined and principled hero. After witnessing Commissioner Gordon’s decline following his divorce, Barbara Gordon decides to take up the mantle of Batgirl to fight crime and help restore order in Gotham. She is shown as a skilled fighter and detective, but also maintains a warm relationship with her father. Batgirl’s character provides a moral counterpoint to Harley’s chaotic antics, as she tries to discourage Harley from her villainous ways while still recognizing the good in her.

How To Dress Like Batgirl

1. COSTUME – The outfit Batgirl wears in the Harley Quinn show draws significant influence from the original Batman and Robin TV series and so we started with this classic outfit.

2. GLOVES – Unlike the original Batgirl, this iteration swaps out the spiked purple gloves for a more practical pair of yellow gauntlet gloves.

3. WIG – The retro curly hairstyle is also replaced by a more modern short auburn hair cut.

4. CAPE – The purple cape also makes way for a black and yellow cape, very much in keeping with more modern interpretations of the character.

5. BELT – Swap out that clunky utility belt for a thin yellow belt, we recommend ordering a larger size to allow it to hang like Batgirl’s.

6. FOOTWEAR – Finally, a pair of heels might not be the most functional crime-fighting footwear but sometimes you have to make sacrifices in the name of style!
