Wear an off-white sleeveless top with long fabric panels crossed over the chest, cropped beige or gray pants and brown calf-high boots. Add arm wraps, a brown belt, wrist cuff, utility pouch and Rey’s three-bun hairstyle. Choose a staff or lightsaber based on the movie being recreated.
Drape two long strips of beige gauze or muslin over the shoulders, cross them at the chest and secure them beneath a brown belt. Use narrower strips or elastic bandages for the arms, keeping them comfortably loose and securing them with hidden Velcro.
Divide the hair horizontally into three sections at the back of the head. Form each section into a small looped bun, leaving a short tail beneath it, before securing everything with hair ties and bobby pins.
Rey uses the blue Skywalker lightsaber throughout much of the sequel trilogy. At the end of The Rise of Skywalker, she reveals a newly constructed yellow lightsaber made partly from her scavenger staff. Either color can work, depending on the costume version.
The Force Awakens gives Rey a weathered beige scavenger outfit with arm wraps and a staff. The Last Jedi uses darker gray Jedi-training clothes, while The Rise of Skywalker returns to a cleaner white wrap outfit with a hood and brown leather accessories.
Kylo Ren provides the most recognizable Rey duo or couples costume. Finn and BB-8 are strong alternatives, while Poe Dameron, Leia Organa, Luke Skywalker and stormtroopers can complete a sequel-trilogy group.
