ABOUT PRINCESS ARURORA:

Princess Aurora appears in Disney’s Sleeping Beauty and is based on the Briar Rose character from the original Brothers Grimm fairytale, “Little Briar Rose.”

As revenge for not being invited to the birth of Princess Aurora, the evil fairy Maleficent curses the newborn to die on her 16th birthday after pricking her finger on a spinning wheel.

However, the good fairy Merryweather successfully alters the curse to ensure Aurora will simply fall into a deep sleep rather than die. There she will remain until true love’s – Prince Philip’s – kiss wakes her from her slumber.

How To Dress Like Sleeping Beauty

1.  CORSET – We started with a floral corset with off-shoulder straps. If that’s not your style, then there are dozens more pink corsets to choose from.

2. SKIRT – Next, we went for a pink patterned tutu with a bow accent to match our knee-high socks.

3. FOOTWEAR – Add a pair of your favorite pink heels. White stilettos will also work great for this DIY costume, if you prefer.

4. SOCKS – Because cute is also sexy, we added an adorable pair of knee-length pink socks with bow accents.

5. NECKLACE – Sleeping Beauty wears a distinctive gold choker just like the one featured here.

6. CROWN – Every princess needs a crown. What type you go for is entirely up to you. For us, we loved this sparkly costume tiara.

7. GLOVES – Finish your sexy Aurora costume with a pair of fingerless satin opera gloves.

8. WIG – This is the perfect outfit idea for any natural blonde. If that’s not you and you don’t want to dye your hair, then we recommend getting yourself a long and wavy blonde wig.
