ABOUT THE FAIRY GODMOTHER:

The Fairy Godmother in Shrek is the main antagonist of Shrek 2. She is the mother of Prince Charming and believes that ogres should not live happily ever after. She plots against Shrek and Fiona’s relationship, using her magic and potions in an attempt to trick Fiona into falling in love with Charming instead. Voiced by Jennifer Saunders, the Fairy Godmother is a parody of the common fairy tale trope, serving as a bigoted and manipulative character who is ultimately defeated when Shrek and his friends turn her into bubbles.

How To Dress Like Fairy Godmother

1. DRESS – We started our Fairy Godmother costume with this beautiful retro dress with a chiffon scarf. Although not identical, we felt this fit with the look we were going for perfectly.

2. WIG – Next, this purple, vintage-style wig was made specifically for a Fairy Godmother outfit and the quality is fantastic!

3. BELT – Next, add a skinny metal cinch belt in silver.

4. GLASSES – These blue half-moon glasses are nearly identical to the ones worn by the antagonist of Shrek 2.

5. NAILS – You can either paint your nails a light pink or find yourself some fakes, whichever you prefer.

6. WAND – Where would any mischievous fairy be without her trusty wand?

7. WINGS – Finish your outfit with a set of dainty fairy wings and you are ready to ruin an ogres happily ever after near you!
